Scraping API benchmark · September 29, 2026

100% delivery across 11 sites

Ten of them are behind bot protection. We sent the same 110 fresh pages to six scraping APIs at the same time, and Crawio returned every page with the site's real content.

Method, limits and the test script are on this page.

100%
of pages delivered across 11 sites, 10 of them protected

The benchmark compares six APIs on the same 11 sites. In the last 30 days, Crawio delivered pages from more than 2,700 different websites.

What this means for you

Every page, even the hard ones

On the three hardest sites in the test, Crawio delivered 30 of 30 pages. Three of the other five APIs delivered none there.

Cheaper on every kind of page

The only other API that delivered all 110 pages cost $0.13 per 1,000 standard pages and $1.26 per 1,000 heavily protected pages in this test. Crawio cost $0.10 and $0.58.

Nothing to tune

With Crawio there is no proxy or rendering setting to pick: send a URL, get the page. Four of the other five APIs needed a premium proxy or browser setting on some sites.

Sorted by pages delivered, then first-try pages. The best value in each column is in bold, whoever holds it. Cost is what each account was charged on September 29, 2026, per 1,000 delivered pages, on its entry plan. Standard pages are Amazon, Booking.com, Wikipedia and Zillow. Heavily protected pages are the other 7 sites. Each price covers only the pages that API delivered. Letters link to the limits below.

Limits of this test

a

Trial accounts. We tested competitors on free-trial or pay-as-you-go accounts. ScraperAPI's trial blocks its strongest setting ("ultra premium"), which paid plans include. Its 0 of 10 on G2, Idealista and Realtor.com may differ on a paid plan.

b

ZenRows connections. ZenRows' API closed the connection without an answer on some sites. A ZenRows-only rerun 10 minutes later got 10 of 10 on Zillow and 9 of 10 on Realtor.com. The tables show the main run.

c

ScrapingBee on Indeed. Its cheapest setting worked on the first page, then failed. Its premium setting got 10 of 10 in our earlier run.

d

Small sample. 10 pages per site is a small sample.

e

Speed. Crawio's times are from a second run on October 2, 2026, after an engine update, with the same script and the same pages. The other APIs' times are from September 29, 2026, when Crawio's median was 8.1 s.

How we tested

  1. 1.
11 well-known sites, 10 fresh pages each: 110 pages. No one had requested these pages before the test.
  2. 2.
Six APIs got the same pages at the same time, 5 requests at once per API.
  3. 3.
A page counts only if it is the full page, contains the site's real content and is not a block or captcha page.
  4. 4.
Each competitor used its cheapest setting that worked on each site. Crawio has no settings to pick.
  5. 5.
A failed page got one retry, as a normal script would do.
  6. 6.
Cost is what each account was actually charged. We checked it against every account's balance and billing dashboard.
  7. 7.
We show cost per 1,000 delivered pages on each API's entry plan, separately for standard and heavily protected pages.
